2017 has nothing on what 2018 is shaping up to be. Oh my!

Last year was spectacular – as many of our newly wedded, gorgeously well-celebrated, and beautifully showered parents-to-be would agree. We literally met hundreds of brides and grooms, keen parents, special anniversary achievers, birthday party-goers, and fun-loving corporate folk. Plus, we were able to team up with even more incredible vendors and venues, bringing with them a whole host of new design, layout and location opportunities for our wonderful clients – and even better we now call many of them friends!

In addition to classic romance and dancing into the night, we were involved with bush dances, we helped orchestrate sparkler send-offs, heard the energetic beats of African drumming sessions, and even got to closely work with the Starlight Foundation and Constance Hall as part of a special fundraiser event. We’ve walked with Alpacas and setup amongst green pastures at working dairies. We escaped to bush retreats and wineries, and even transformed a house boat into a party-ready floating oasis. We even travelled as far south as Wollongong, all the way up to Krambach along the Bucketts Way.

And through all of these 2017 adventures we feel very confident in saying, Newcastle really has some of the best florists, stylists, celebrants, photographers, caterers, and musicians in the business. We are so lucky to know and work with some of the most inspiring, talented, creative and down-to-earth event businesses and services around and it truly makes all the difference when it comes to setting up and creating unforgettable event memories.

Speaking of memories, here are three of our favourite wedding flashbacks for 2017:

George and Lucinda at Starline Alpaca Farm

Guests feasted on delicious food, a Greek folk band created an energetic and lively ambience, there was African drumming and acoustic jam sessions – yes, it was a fun-filled all-weekend event, including onsite camping, Alpacas, spa and sauna relaxation, lawn games, tennis, and a cocktail or two by the pool.

Samantha and John at Bayview Yacht Club

Bayview is a breathtaking venue with enviable views and the setup was incredible, but I have to say the highlight of the evening for me was jumping in an UBER when all was good to go, taking in the sweet sounds of Adele!! and then high-tailing it back to the venue after all the good times were over for pack down. What a night!

Alexie and Chad at Walka Water Works

Every exciting (and sweltering hot) moment of high school sweethearts, Alexie and Chad’s big day was captured by the amazingly talented Little Black Bow Photography. The couple chose to use our Recycled Hardwood Cabana and rustic trestle tables to create an earthy, yet luxurious style. Such a stellar day!

OK, three highlights is just not enough… A special shout out also goes to:

  • Clancy and Daniel and their gorgeous city views from Fort Scratchley
  • Allana and Alex featuring hanging ladders of greenery in collaboration with <insert florist> at 48 Watt Street
  • Claire and Michael who chose the Sydney College of Arts for their special evening (while we had a cheeky stay at Cockatoo Island!)

Ahh the future!

We could go on and on, looking back at the amazing year that was 2017 – but as it is well-and-truly 2018 it’s time to look ahead to what the year will bring. While we hope it is more the same – wonderful clients, and amazing vendors and venues – we are so excited about how things will change in 2018. In particular, because of Australia’s YES vote and the subsequent legislation changes we are hoping to meet and work with even more amazing couples who want to tie the knot and we can’t wait to be part of their special celebrations.

We are ready,

Martina, Margharita, Kat, Paula, Craig and Matt xx
